The past few years have been wrought with change. Good change, mind you. But change all the same. What has stayed constant though, and what has buoyed me through the past few years of upheaval, is my ability to find joy in the most curious places.
Doing things the old fashioned way – especially something you never knew you could (homemade deodorant?) leads to the most exciting, exhilarating, joyful accomplishments.There is a deep and lasting happiness that comes from taking your personal care into your own hands. Cook your own food. Spend time in nature. Sit quietly for a few minutes each day. We’ve been programed by our society to believe that we always need to be going, doing, seeing. But what we could all use more of is simply, being.
Take joy in the simple things. Look for it everywhere. In the meantime, I’ll be harvesting my first batch of Kombucha. JOY!
